Meet our Sekoly Kintana team.
We are a Montessori primary school in Madagascar, dedicated to fostering a love for learning through innovative and inclusive education. Our talented team is passionate about literacy, emotional intelligence, science, art, movement and creating opportunities for Malagasy children. We believe that education is about much more than sitting at desks and listening; the world is a classroom, and learning can and should be done through diverse modalities, experiences, art, science, movement, and more. Our teachers act as guides and coaches, nurturing and developing each child’s natural genius within a healing-centered curriculum that centers Madagascar. We aim to create an enriching learning environment where each child can reach their full potential in a harmonious and balanced way.

Elle poursuit actuellement un Master en Éducation K–12, détient un CAPP (Certificat en Psychologie Positive Appliquée), est coach certifiée PCC et ACC par l’International Coach Federation, et est autorisée à enseigner et diriger une école privée à Madagascar. Passionnée par le développement du potentiel humain, Alison crée des environnements sûrs et stimulants où enfants et adultes s’épanouissent grâce à l’apprentissage socio-émotionnel, à l’éducation additive et à l’approche STEAM. Elle s’engage à promouvoir l’alphabétisation précoce en malgache parallèlement à l’enseignement de l’anglais, tout en plaçant Madagascar et l’Afrique au cœur des programmes d’histoire, de sciences et d’arts pour garantir une éducation culturellement pertinente et valorisante.

Since January, she has been a wonderful addition to Sekoly Kintana, working closely under our Montessori guides and currently training with Megan, our experienced Montessori trainer.

Nosoavina is a passionate and experienced educator with a passion for learning and innovation in learning theory. Known for her sense of responsibility and attentive listening, she joins our team with the enthusiasm to take on new challenges and make a significant contribution to the education of our youngest students. Nosoavina brings with her experience in managing educational projects, supporting orphaned and vulnerable children, and facilitating educational and recreational activities. She is passionate about dancing and celebrating Malagasy culture with an understanding and value for creating global citizens.
Nosoavina is currently studying the Montessori method and will complete her Montessori Assistant certification for children aged 3 to 6 years in September 2024. She aims to create an enriching learning environment where each child can reach their full potential with joy and a love for learning. Her understanding of socio-emotional learning and early literacy ensures holistic development.

Montessori Supervisor & Early Literacy Coach
Megan is a dedicated Montessori educator with over twenty-five years of experience, certified by the American Montessori Association. Thanks to a 10-month residency grant from the Montessori Global Grant Fund (MGGF), she has joined Sekoly Kintana to help build lasting capacity among our teachers and assistants. During her time in Fort Dauphin, Megan is training our guides and assistants in Montessori lessons, culture, and the preparation of the environment, while also mentoring Alison and strengthening our literacy curriculum in both Malagasy and English.
Her presence represents a transformative investment: Megan brings deep expertise in early literacy, socio-emotional learning, and holistic child development. She is well-versed in the Sounds & Shapes Reading Curriculum developed by her mentor, Nancy Schwab, and has helped codify its practice. As a supervising teacher, she leverages sharp observation skills to coach teachers, refine practice, and model what Montessori looks like at its best.
Megan’s vision embraces the Erdkinder approach, connecting children to nature and outdoor experiences whenever possible. Joyful, insightful, and creative, she is not only guiding our team but also helping us lay the foundation for Sekoly Kintana to become a model Montessori school in Madagascar — one that uplifts Malagasy identity while preparing children to thrive in a globalized world.
