Our Vision
Sekoly Kintana is a small trilingual Montessori school in southern Madagascar, built as a lab school for a bigger vision. We are working to decolonize education, center Malagasy language and identity, and give children real tools to shape their lives and communities.
We welcome children from local families, zanatany, expatriates and worldschooling families into one learning community. In a single morning, a child might read in Malagasy, solve a Montessori math problem in English, then share their thinking in French. This is not an accident. It reflects the reality our children live in and prepares them to move between worlds with confidence.
Our approach is closely aligned with Montessori. Children choose meaningful work, use concrete materials, and learn to take responsibility for themselves, their space and each other. Guides act more like coaches than traditional teachers. They observe, ask questions, offer paths, and hold a clear structure without pushing their own fears or ambitions onto the child.

Notre vision de Sekoly Kintana
Sekoly Kintana est une petite école Montessori trilingue dans le sud de Madagascar, pensée comme une école laboratoire pour une vision plus large. Nous travaillons à décoloniser l’éducation, à recentrer la langue et l’identité malgaches, et à donner aux enfants de vrais outils pour construire leur vie et contribuer à leur communauté.
Nous accueillons des enfants de familles locales, de zanatany, d’expatriés et de familles en école itinérante dans une même communauté d’apprentissage. En une matinée, un enfant peut lire en malgache, résoudre un problème de mathématiques Montessori en anglais, puis expliquer sa démarche en français. Ce mélange est volontaire. Il reflète la réalité des enfants et les prépare à passer d’un monde à l’autre avec assurance.
